"We just had a front porch added to our house. Timothy was amazing with us and did a phenomenal job. We are so excited to get some furniture out there and watch some sunsets."
Crystal J. · Concrete Installation
"I highly recommend working with Tim and his crew. They exceeded my expectations in work quality, professionalism, and value. They were also amazing with the cleanup and leaving my property cleaner than it was before. They poured a new concrete patio and step in my backyard as well as repaired some siding on my house. I am beyond happy with the results."
Brandy H. · Concrete Installation
"Timely and very professional. Kept me updated at every stage of the project. Budget friendly. Customer for life!"

Concrete vs. pavers vs. flagstone

Poured concrete is the cheapest and fastest — broom finish for a clean modern look, or stamped to mimic stone or brick. Pavers (concrete or clay) cost more but won't crack across the slab; if one shifts, you pull and reset that piece. Flagstone is the most expensive and the most beautiful — natural Oklahoma or Pennsylvania stone laid on a mortar bed or dry-set in decomposed granite. I'll match the choice to your house and your budget.

Why most patios crack — and how I prevent it

San Antonio sits on expansive clay soil that swells when wet and shrinks when dry. A 4" slab poured directly on dirt will crack inside a year. I excavate 6–8", lay 4" of compacted base rock, then pour 4" of concrete with #3 rebar on chairs (not just wire mesh laying on the ground). Control joints get cut at the right intervals so the concrete cracks where I want it to, not across your finish.

Drainage is part of the design

Every patio I build slopes away from the house at 1/8" per foot minimum. If your yard pools water, we add a French drain or surface drain into the design before the pour. Patios that hold water are how foundations and slabs go bad.

Outdoor living add-ons

Fire pits (gas or wood), seating walls with cap stones, integrated planters, low-voltage lighting, and pergola footings can all be designed into the patio from day one. Cheaper to do at pour than to bolt on later.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a concrete patio cost?
Broom-finish concrete runs roughly $9–$14 per square foot installed in San Antonio. Stamped/colored concrete is $14–$22. Pavers $18–$30. Flagstone $22–$40. Prices include base prep and proper drainage.
Will my patio crack?
All concrete cracks eventually — the goal is to control where. With proper base, rebar, and saw-cut control joints, cracks land in the joints where you don't see them. Pavers and flagstone don't crack across the slab at all.
Do I need a permit for a patio?
Most ground-level patios in San Antonio don't need a permit. Covered patios, patios with electrical, or anything attached to the house do. I check before quoting.
How long does it take?
A standard 300 sq ft concrete patio is 2–3 days (demo, base, pour). Pavers and flagstone run 4–7 days. Concrete needs 7 days to fully cure before heavy use.
Can I use my patio in winter and summer?
Yes — concrete and stone hold up year-round in our climate. Lighter colors stay cooler underfoot in July; we'll talk through finish options before the pour.
